Dr. Kathleen Duerksen SPECIALTY PRACTICE GOALS During a consultation, it is my goal to listen and examine carefully and then fully explain the various treatment options. I want to provide people with the information they need to choose the care that is right for them. I enjoy both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, treating many patients who have "baggy" and wrinkled eyelids, necks and faces. I use lasers for facial wrinkle and skin surface improvement. Botox has been part of my practice since 1988, treating eyelid and facial wrinkles and spasms. Ask us about Restylane, the exciting F.D.A. approved wrinkle filler that lasts at least twice as long as collagen! A portion of my practice is devoted to reconstructive plastic surgery after skin cancer removals. I also correct mal-positioned eyelids which result from aging or trauma. I commonly diagnose and treat problems with excessive tearing. For liposuction/liposculpture, I use the tumescent technique. This method is far superior to the old technique. It is an outpatient procedure done without general anesthesia. There is little bleeding and few people need pain medication after surgery. Very fine instruments (canulas) are used to remove the fat so the end result can be much smoother and more symmetrical.
